UB is committed to providing a transformative, engaging, and innovative education to our undergraduate students. A core component of undergraduate education is the General Education curriculum.
In March 2009, UB’s Provost and Faculty Senate jointly constituted a General Education Task Force comprised of distinguished UB faculty as well as representatives of the UB Libraries and the undergraduate and graduate student bodies. As requested, the Task Force submitted a preliminary report that is now accessible to the public. This report poses a new vision for our General Education—The UB Core Curriculum: Learning for Life.
We intend this report to serve as a starting-point to engage the UB community in a campus-wide conversation about the mission, objectives, and underlying principles of General Education at UB and in the twenty-first century.
This website serves as a primary resource for the campus community to learn about the Task Force’s activities, as well as provide feedback. For the General Education Task Force’s Report, please see the link below.
We welcome your feedback and comments. The task force can be reached at (716) 645-6003 or ubgened@buffalo.edu.
